10th Grade: No homework! No vocabulary this week!


11th Grade: No homework! Remember your outline is due on MONDAY and it must be typed! Vocabulary quiz has also been postponed to Monday. Exam on The Great Gatsby will be on WEDNESDAY!


12th Grade: Finish your two journals on our two poem presentations. Vocabulary quiz will be postponed until MONDAY. Exam on Victorian poetry will be on WEDNESDAY!


***ALL CLASSES- Don't forget to turn in your permission slip and money for Shakespeare Festival. I must have this by March 5!!!!

****ALL CLASSES- I will be sending home permission slips tomorrow for our upcoming trip to the Alabama Shakespeare Festival on March 11th. They will be due on March 5th!

10th Grade: No homework! Enjoy your weekend!

11th Grade: Your 2nd set of 15 notecards are due on Tuesday, February 16! Make sure that you have all of your sources: 2 books, 1 or 2 internet sites, and a magazine or journal article. Other sources might be a personal interview or a televised documentary. I can show you how to cite those sources later.

*Chapter 7 of The Great Gatsby with chapter questions will be due on Wednesday, February 17. You will be quizzed on that chapter as well!

12th Grade: No homework! Work on your poetry projects. Courtney and Brian will present!

10th Grade: Study for vocabulary quiz tomorrow by completing worksheet given in class! Please also finish questions 1-8 on "Dr. Heidegger's Experiment" by tomorrow, if you have not turned them in already. Only Cody, Bobby, Kathryn, Colten, Tray, and Page have turned them in, so everyone else- GET ON IT!

11th Grade: Your next set of notecards (15) will be due on Tuesday, February 16. Also, you will need to read Chapters 7 and 8 by Wednesday of next week and complete the questions.

12th Grade: Please write choose two of the poems discussed in class today and write a journal for them. This will be due tomorrow.

Speech: I am giving you until Tuesday to finish preparing for your speeches. Tomorrow we will watch examples of demonstration speeches and score them according to the rubrics handed out in class.

10th grade: Answer questions 1-9 on p. 525 in your textbook on the story, "A Rose for Emily" by William Faulkner. We did not have any time in class to complete these questions.

*LATE PASS opportunity: I will give a late pass to the student who can answer the following question: What happened to William Faulkner in 1949?

11th grade: On-going assignment: Chapters 5 and 6 must be read by Tuesday, February 9. Questions and annotations for those chapters will be due on that day as well. We will also have a quiz on chapters 5 and 6 on that day. Because of the tournaments, our vocabulary quiz will be postponed until Monday, February 8! Good luck, ladies!

Happy Groundhog's Day! ...And congratulations to both boys and girls on last night's wins! Go Chiefs!!

So here's the story:

10th Grade: No homework- we ran out of time to read in class today. We will work on the story, "A Rose for Emily" tomorrow.

11th Grade: Choose your essential question for the research project. We will meet in the computer lab tomorrow for the first 30 minutes of class so that you can research your topic.

12th Grade: Read and annotate, "Crossing the Bar" on page 851 in your textbook. Write a journal for this poem as well. I am going to model for you how to teach your lesson tomorrow using this poem.

Speech: We will begin working on our "How To" speeches tomorrow.
